Art Deco Sterling Silver & Lucite Compact
An exceptional vintage compact crafted from clear Lucite and solid sterling silver on both sides, showcasing the elegance of late Art Deco design and the innovation of early modern materials.
Both the top and bottom panels are solid sterling silver.
The top features the initials “M.F.”, engraved alongside delicate floral motifs — possibly a maker’s mark or a custom monogram.
Stamped on the inner rim: “STERLING M.F. PATENT PENDING DESIGN REGD”.
Set in a square Lucite casing with round silver inserts — a striking example of Art Deco geometry and contrast.
Likely made in the late 1930s to early 1940s in the United States, with strong design similarities to pieces by Rex Fifth Avenue or Elgin American.
In excellent vintage condition, with light patina on the silver and Lucite.
This piece is rare, possibly one-of-a-kind, and highly collectible — ideal for vintage beauty collectors, Art Deco enthusiasts, or anyone who appreciates fine silver craftsmanship.
