Lucite Earrings Little Stunners
There is something rather special about these little earrings. Simple, beautifully rounded and wonderfully colourful, they have that irresistible quality I so often look for in vintage costume jewellery.
Available in three gorgeous shades, fiery orange, golden yellow and deep emerald green, each pair features a glossy domed shape that catches the light beautifully. The design is uncomplicated, yet somehow incredibly effective. Sometimes the simplest things are the most charming.
No elaborate settings or unnecessary decoration, just beautiful colour, a lovely domed shape and warm gold tone fittings.
Small in size, big on colour and a lovely reminder of just how inventive costume jewellery can be.

When plastic changed the world of jewellery
Today we tend to think of plastic as an everyday material, but its introduction into jewellery design was quite revolutionary.
The development of synthetic plastics opened up an entirely new world of possibilities for jewellery makers. Suddenly, designers could experiment with colours, shapes and finishes that would have been difficult, expensive or impractical to achieve using traditional materials.
Vibrant jewel tones could imitate the richness of precious stones, while translucent and glossy finishes recreated the sparkle and depth of crystals and gemstones. Large, beautifully sculptural designs could be made surprisingly lightweight and comfortable to wear.
It was a wonderful marriage of imagination and modern materials. Jewellery no longer needed to be made from precious stones or heavy metal to be eye catching. Colour itself became the star.
Here is a little piece of vintage ingenuity and a fascinating example of how something as simple as plastic helped change the face of costume jewellery.
