Tulip Enamel Clip-On Earrings by Coro
These vintage clip-on earrings by Coro feature a charming tulip motif with two tulip blossoms per earring, rendered in mauve and yellow enamel with green enamel leaves. Each flower is accented with small rhinestones at the centres, adding subtle sparkle to the dimensional floral design. The earrings are crafted on a gold toned metal base, allowing the vibrant enamel colours and sculptural form to stand out.
The tulips fan naturally from the base, creating a soft, flowing composition that reflects the organic and expressive aesthetic of Coro’s early 1940s floral designs. These earrings are closely related in style and construction to Coro’s enamel tulip jewellery from this period, many of which were designed under the artistic direction of Adolph Katz. Signed and unsigned versions of these dimensional tulip designs were produced and some were part of coordinated sets where only the bracelet or necklace was signed. Visual comparison confirms this pair as an authentic example of Coro’s early 1940s costume jewellery.
A beautifully preserved example of American costume jewellery, these earrings combine craftsmanship, vibrant colour and timeless springtime charm.
