This magnificent Belgian 1950s crystal centrepiece, a “coupe sur pied en cristal doublé jaune”, a pedestal bowl in glowing cased yellow crystal, has sweeping organic curves and a dramatic 55 cm wingspan. It is the kind of piece that transforms a table, a console or any room into a statement.
Heavy and sculptural, unmistakably modern in its take on crystal design, it still carries part of its original silver foil Val Saint Lambert label, a mark of authenticity.
